Introduction

When stress builds up, the mind becomes restless, and the body starts to feel tight, heavy, and worn down, what we often need most is not to push harder, but to gently slow down and soften. This guided meditation is designed to help release stress, cleanse heavy and unhealthy energy, clear inner clutter, and settle into calm. Through a full-body scan and contemplation of Amitabha Buddha’s light, you can gradually let your body and mind become quieter, brighter, softer, and more at peace.

You may read it silently to yourself, or listen to it slowly using a browser’s read-aloud function, with the reading speed adjusted slower so each line has time to settle in.

Amituofo Light Body Scan Meditation

Get comfortable.

Sit or lie down in a way that feels natural and supported.

Gently close your eyes.

Let your shoulders soften.

Let your jaw relax.

Let your hands rest easily.

Let your breathing be natural.

There is nothing you need to force.

Nothing you need to fix right now.

Just allow yourself to arrive here, in this moment.

Take a slow, gentle breath in…

And slowly breathe out…

Again, breathing in…

And breathing out…

One more time…

Breathing in…

And breathing out…

Now, inwardly, say to yourself:

I am ready to relax.

I am ready to become still.

I am ready to give the best to my body.

I will fill my whole body with the name of Amituofo and Amituofo’s light.

Now imagine Amituofo above you, radiating soft, warm, pure light.

This light is gentle.

It is peaceful.

It is compassionate.

It is healing.

It is protective.

You are surrounded by this light.

You are held in this light.

You are safe in this light.

Now we begin.

Crown of the Head

Bring your attention to the crown of your head.

Gently say inwardly:

Crown of my head, I love you.

Thank you.

I want to give you the very best.

Now softly recite inwardly:

A small ray of light enters the crown.

Now bring your attention to your forehead…

Now bring your attention to your shoulders…

and your heart.

These are places that often carry pressure, emotion, and weight.

Now let Amituofo’s light enter here.

Gently say inwardly:

Shoulders, I love you. Thank you.

Chest, I love you. Thank you.

Heart, I love you. Thank you.

I want to give you the very best.

Lower Back, Pelvis, Legs, and Feet

Now we continue downward, a little more quickly.

Bring light to the lower back…

Now bring your attention to the arms and hands.

Ray after ray of light enters.

Part after part fills with light.

The arms soften.

The hands soften.

The whole body grows quieter still.

The Whole Body Filled with Light

Now there is no need to move part by part.

Simply feel the whole body.

Light at the crown.

Light in the face.

Light in the throat.

Light in the shoulders.

Light in the chest.

Light in the heart.

Light in the lungs.

Light in the stomach.

Light in the abdomen.

Light in the dantian.

Light in the lower back.

Light in the arms.

Light in the legs.

Light in the feet.

Your whole body is now filled with Amituofo’s light.

Your whole body rests in this light.

Your whole body is surrounded by compassion, peace, and healing.

Now feel the pressure dissolving.

Feel mental noise fading.

Feel discomfort softening.

Feel anything heavy or unhealthy slowly fading away in the Buddha’s light.

Like mist dissolving in the morning sun.

Like dust being washed away.

Like a burden being gently set down.

You are becoming lighter.

More peaceful.

More pure.

More focused.

Joy, Peace, and Concentration

Now feel a gentle ease arising in the body.

This ease becomes joy.

Not excitement.

Not restlessness.

But a quiet, pure, peaceful joy.

Now feel deep peace.

Steady.

Still.

Clear.

Now feel concentration.

The mind is no longer scattered.

The mind begins to rest naturally and steadily in Amituofo’s name.

Let joy fill the whole body.

Let peace fill the whole body.

Let concentration fill the whole body.

From head to toe,

inside and out,

every corner of your being is filled with joy, peace, and concentration.

The Body of Light

Now continue resting here.

The body becomes lighter.

Brighter.

More open.

More spacious.

The heaviness of the physical body begins to fade.

The sense of solid boundaries begins to soften.

Your body no longer feels like only flesh.

It feels like a body shaped by Amituofo’s light.

The head is light.

The chest is light.

The abdomen is light.

The hands are light.

The legs are light.

The whole body is light.

You are within Amituofo’s light.

And you yourself become a luminous body shaped by that light.

Pure.

Peaceful.

Gentle.

Radiant.

Filled with Compassion

Now let Amituofo’s compassion continue to flow into this body of light.

May I be filled with compassion.

May I be filled with Buddha-light.

May my body and mind become pure and peaceful.

May I abide in stillness.

May I abide in concentration.

May I abide in Amituofo.

Resting and Closing

Now there is nothing more you need to do.

Simply rest.

Rest in the light.

Rest in the peace.

Rest in the joy.

Rest in the stillness.

Rest in Amituofo’s name.

Thank you, my body.
